About Us
Founded in 1997, New Span Opto-Technology Inc. (New Span) is women owned High Technology Corporation located in Miami, Florida. New Span is developing and marketing advanced technologies and sensors to support various defense, homeland security, and commercial applications. The company has two divisions, Optics Division and Material/Energy Division, and has following six laboratories each covering a certain spectrum of technological areas:
**Material Development Lab (developing OLED materials, photochromic sol gel materials, photo-curable resins, optical storage material, and fuel cell materials)
**Fuel Cell Lab (developing next generation solid oxide fuel cell technologies and systems)
**Non-Linear Optics Lab (developing laser eye/sensor protection technologies, ceramic fiber coating evaluation technologies, carbon nanotubes and applications, surface plasma optics and applications, all-optical switching technologies)
**Optics and Imaging Lab (developing foveated vision technologies, hyperspectral imaging technologies, thin film coating evaluation technologies, diffractive optical elements and beam shaping technologies, micro-holographic data storage, lidar imaging technologies, target sensors, and laser warning sensors)
**Photonics Lab (developing all-optical fiber communication switches, silicon-on-insulator micro-ring filter and switches, and high speed polymer optical interconnection ribbon technologies)
**Maskless Lithography Lab (developing maskless lithography technologies, micro transfer molding technologies, and micro fluidic patterning technologies)
Being a capable small system integrator, New Span has developed a number of products including laser beam profiler, thin film non-contact optical evaluation instrument, maskless laser writing lithography system, flat-top laser beam shaper, broadband light sources, and optical interconnect coupler. Our product areas also include optics education kits, Raman spectrometer, light sources, fiber products, and so on. There are also many emerging products ranging from foveated imaging sensor, laser protection device, organic light emitting materials, to solid oxide fuel cells.
With products, technologies, intellectual property, a group of talented scientists with Ph.D. degrees, and marketing experts, New Span is working on building a profitable company.
